Kitt Reuter-Foss made her Metropolitan Opera debut in The Magic Flute under the baton of James Levine. She has since returned to the MET for La Traviata, The Ghosts of Versailles, Falstaff, Le nozze di Figaro, Rusalka, and Death in Venice. Ms. Reuter-Foss continually performs with opera companies and symphony orchestras nationwide to wide acclaim.
Recent engagements include Die Zauberflote with the New Japan Philharmonic conducted by Seiji Ozawa, a return to Atlanta Opera as Olga in Eugene Onegin, Flora in La Traviata, Suzuki in Madama Butterfly, Mercedes in Carmen and Zerlina in Don Giovanni, as well as A Midsummer Night’s Dream in concert with the Madison Ballet, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with the Madison Symphony, Angelina (cover) in La Cenerentola with the Florentine Opera, Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro with the Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Mrs. Peachum in Three Penny Opera with Arizona Opera, and Alma March in New York City Opera’s Japan tour of Little Women. In the fall 2006, she can be seen as Suzuki in Madama Butterfly with Opera Carolina and a soloist in Verdi Requiem with Valdosta Symphony Orchestra.
She has appeared frequently with Atlanta Opera where she made her debut as Suzuki in Madama Butterfly and has also performed there as Maddalena in Rigoletto, Despina in Cosi fan tutte, Meg Page in Falstaff, Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro, Annina in Der Rosenkavalier, Lola in Cavalleria Rusticana, Bersi in Andrea Chenier, Flora in La Traviata, Second Lady in The Magic Flute, and Mary in The Flying Dutchman. Also a favorite with the Florentine Opera of Milwaukee, she has performed there as Hansel in Hansel and Gretel, the title role in Cenerentola, Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro, Stephano in Romeo et Juliette, Fenena in Nabucco, and Annina in Der Rosenkavalier. With Madison Opera she has performed Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Siebel in Faust, Nicklausse in Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Suzuki in Madama Butterfly, Anna in The King and I, and as Mrs. Frank Lloyd Wright in the world premiere of Daron Hagen’s Shining Brow.
Additional engagements have included Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte with Portland Opera, Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro with Cleveland Opera, Amastre in Xerxes at Boston Lyric Opera, Olga in Eugene Onegin with Utah Opera, Isabella in L’Italiana in Algeri with Hawaii Opera Theatre, Alma March in Mark Adamo’s Little Women with Chautauqua Opera, Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia and the title role in Carmen with the Pine Mountain Music Festival, Mrs. Frank Lloyd Wright in Shining Brow with Chicago Opera Theater.
